Kyler Murray, Patrick Peterson Exchange Jabs On Twitter

It’s safe to say that this season hasn’t gone quite according to plan for the Arizona Cardinals. They find themselves 4-8, which is somehow third in that division behind the awful Los Angeles Rams — who would’ve thought that six months ago? To make matters worse, quarterback Kyler Murray has regressed after signing his mega extension with the team. Murray is averaging a career-low 6.1 yards per attempt, with only 14 touchdowns and seven interceptions on the year. On top of all this, he now has former Cardinals great and current Minnesota Viking Patrick Peterson taking jabs at him.

During an appearance on the All Things Covered podcast, Peterson threw a jab at Murray, stating that Murray only cares about himself. This visibly shocked the host Bryant McFadden and the clip ends shortly after as they move on to other topics.

Peterson is well known for not having a good relationship with the Cardinals or the team’s general manager, Steve Keim. This shot from Peterson drew an immediate response from Murray.

Murray was quick to defend himself, and on the one hand, I totally get it. You have to defend yourself when you get called out like that. But on the other hand, Murray has far from played up to expectations so he does deserve a little blame here. He was not the only Cardinals player to step up.

Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals have a lot to figure out this off-season because another season similar to theirs this year will spell trouble for everyone involved. The San Francisco 49ers are firing on all cylinders right now, and the Seattle Seahawks look like they are built for the future. If the Cardinals don’t figure it out soon, this verbal sparring session online will be the least of their worries.
