Kenny McIntosh 2023 NFL Draft Profile

Georgia has a pretty good track record of sending running backs to the NFL level. Kenny McIntosh is no different but is also unique compared to the prototypical SEC running back. With McIntosh entering the 2023 NFL Draft, how should you feel about the Bulldogs RB? Will it be an easy transition for McIntosh right away as a rookie? Let’s take a look at the Kenny McIntosh 2023 NFL Draft profile!

The thing people should be most intrigued about with McIntosh is his ability to become a threat in the passing game. There are a lot of good backs in this draft class. I have a hard time believing someone is a better receiver out of the backfield. Just such a complete and all around back teams will love and will never give away your playcall.

This past year McIntosh notched 43 receptions for 505 yards and two touchdowns. Keep in mind, that’s while being part of a three headed monster at running back sharing duties with Daijun Edwards and Kendall Milton. Keep in mind, we’re also talking about a team that constantly had the lead and could have designed more of these pass plays.

It would be a disservice to say McIntosh isn’t capable of running between the tackles. No, it’s not his strong suit but is more than capable of doing so. It’s something we went into great depth during the season on the stock report notes. A 5.7 YPC average more than checks the box for what you’re looking for. It’s more of an upright running style as McIntosh is 6-foot-1 but can make those necessary cuts and is tough enough to do it.

My comp for Kenny McIntosh is this. If you took Matt Forte and improved his passing game while taking 10 percent out of the running game, you have what I believe McIntosh will become. The only difference is the smaller sample size and lack of value in running back position will drop him to the middle rounds. McIntosh has my stamp of approval and should be a quality back to any room that adds him. Won’t be a total workhorse but someone in a committee that will be highly functional for any modern offense.
