Josh Rosen has signed to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers practice squad, per Mike Garafolo. According to Garafolo, Josh Rosen had talked to teams about openings on their active 53-man roster, but he and his agent felt going unclaimed was the best option this way they could choose the team.

Rosen’s signing will prove beneficial for both parties. Yesterday I talked about how the Pittsburgh Steelers should sign Josh Rosen as he would provide a good plan for the future after Ben Roethlisberger. That same scenario is present in Tampa Bay. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers currently have Blaine Gabbert and Ryan Griffin behind Tom Brady, not exactly a thrilling plan for the future. Josh Rosen is young and has the potential to learn from an all-time great in Brady.

The Miami Dolphins released Rosen just days ago after failing to find a trade. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have a great young core. Devin White is a breakout candidate for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers have a phenomenal defense that is only improving with their young secondary. The Buccaneers also have excellent weapons in Rob Gronkowski, Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, O.J Howard, and a deep fantasy sleeper in Scotty Miller.

Outside of Gronkowski, all of the receiving power on the Tampa Bay Offense are in their early to mid-20s. Should Rosen decide to stick around for the long haul, he will develop with a great supporting cast.

Josh Rosen can save his career with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He will sit and learn from the one and only Tom Brady. Not exactly the worst punishment in life.
