Jordan Kyrou Signs Monster Extension With Blues
The price tag for Jason Robertson just went up again… The Stars are really going to botch this thing, aren’t they… Hey, we have some more news around the NHL. Unlike Dallas, the Blues did not waste any time getting their young stars (pun intended) under contract. Robert Thomas already got his money. Now it’s Jordan Kyrou’s turn.
Oh, did Kyrou get PAID! Early reports indicate that Kyrou is getting a contract that will be eerily similar to the one Thomas already signed with the team.

There was one point in the offseason that it appeared there was a chance Kyrou would be moved this offseason. With the Blues in pursuit of Matthew Tkachuk, adding Kyrou to a potential sign and trade felt like the most logical option. Tkachuk has family ties in St. Louis. However, Florida came over the top adding Jonathan Huberdeau and MacKenzie Weegar closing the door for that potential deal.
Kyrou has one year remaining on his deal. The extension will kick in after the entry level deal wraps up. Kyrou was damn good last year so it’s no surprise that St. Louis wanted to get this deal done.
Kyrou, 24, notched 75 points this past season in an elevated role. The former second round pick also made the All-Star team and won the fastest skater competition as well. Kyrou might be a finesse player but he’s damn skill and very fast. A young talent the Blues had to make sure they kept.
