The Celtics are riding high and the swag is building. Grant Williams finally hit his first three pointer against the Cavs after missing his first 3 after an 0-25 slump to start his career. Jaylen Brown decided to troll Grant Williams with the perfect ricochet shot at Ben Simmons.
“Yeah, we were calling him Ben Simmons,” Brown said.
I love the move. Ben Simmons vs. the 3-point line is one of the best on going battles in the NBA. Sometimes, Simmons just refuses to shoot them. Often times, he misses any time he’s outside the paint. So what, Simmons finally has TWO made three pointers. Brown is still going to clown him.
Grant Williams is an important piece for the Celtics. It’s time for him to stop refusing to make 3’s. This was a great step in the right direction. If Williams can be that small ball 5 and stretch the floor, it just adds another dimension for Boston. A team that is rolling with a 17-5 record. Much better than they were a year ago. It would appear that Kemba Walker was, in fact, the secret sauce. It’s hard not to be impressed with this group. What trade? They don’t need any reinforcements. They are coming for your heads too.
You have to love this move from Jaylen Brown. The 3 in so in Simmons’ head. Brown knows the Celtics can win the mental warfare over these chumps. Ben Simmons can’t shoot, Joel Embiid refuses to run down to the other end of the court, and Al Horford can’t jump. The Celtics are going to pummel these chumps when it counts. It’s going to be too good to see the Celtics punish the 76ers. This group has the eye of the tiger.
