Hal Steinbrenner Has Made His Intentions Clear

Hal Steinbrenner has not minced words. The Yankees owner has not been afraid to express his strong desire to keep AL-MVP favorite Aaron Judge in the Bronx.

Despite concerns about the Yankees’ payroll, especially after bringing back veteran infielder Anthony Rizzo, Steinbrenner appears to finally be putting his money where his mouth is. So much so that the Bronx Bombers could even make additional upgrades along with a mammoth deal for Judge.

“I’ve absolutely conveyed that I want him to be a Yankee for the rest of his life,” Steinbrenner told a small group of reporters at MLB owners meetings Tuesday. “No doubt about that. He knows the rest is up to him and his family and where they want to go from here, but we’re going to do what we can. I can assure you.”

“We have plenty of ability — and Aaron and I talked about this — to make other things happen, too,” Steinbrenner said.

Yankees fans can finally feel good about something. Instead of making excuses and complaining about the Astros sweeping them, Steinbrenner has finally brought some encouraging quotes to the media forefront. You can say what you want about Judge, his potential contract, and his postseason. But it sure seems at this point that the Yankees’ best chance at winning a title anytime soon will come with Judge on the team rather than off.

Bring Out The Brink’s Truck

The 2022 may have lowered the price tag by a few million. But what Judge pulled off this season is once-in-a-decade material.

He crushed an AL record 62 home runs along with 131 RBIs, tied for the MLB lead. He slashed a whopping .311/.425/.686 line with 28 doubles and an astonishing 1.111 OPS as well. For long stretches, he carried the Yankees offense en route to an AL East title. Rather than a ceiling, $300 million looks more like a starting point. If nothing else, Judge’s regular season excellence can help propel the Yankees to a strong record and postseason home seeding.
