The Giants Are Ruining Saquon Barkley

The New York Giants are a god damn mess and are in the running for the worst run franchise in the NFL. Picking Daniel Jones was an obvious mistake that is looking more and more clear by the week. Dave Gettleman has trouted out one of the worst rosters in the league and hasn’t done anything right since taking over. Pat Shurmer has been a loser his whole life so, of course, it’s no surprise he is losing again with the Giants. The thing we need to start talking about is Saquon Barkley. The Giants one good player is being ruined by this pathetic franchise.

Can we just be honest about this? The Giants realistically need to trade Saquon Barkley while they still can or while he still has peak value. The Giants aren’t just a rebuilding team. They’re years away from competing again. That’s even if Daniel Jones works out, which he won’t. This roster has next to no talent on hit. The Giants will have to hit on 3 straight drafts just to get back into the mix. New York has zero building blocks. Barkley is basically the only one on the roster worth anything.

That being said, it makes no sense to keep Barkley. By the time the Giants can become competitive again, they will have wasted his prime years. They’re already in the midst of wasting his first two years. Running backs only last so long. If Barkley isn’t going to be in his prime by the time the Giants become relevant, what is the point on keeping him on the roster? There is none.

The Giants are ruining Saquon Barkley. He’s averaging a pedestrian 4.0 yards per carry. Look, I’m not the biggest Barley guy. I think he’s overrated. He runs backward too much for my taste. Still, Barkley is better than this. The Giants rushed him back from injury for no reason and now he’s not performing like his normal self. The defense stacks the box too because they know Daniel Jones can’t beat them and Chris Slayton sure as shit isn’t either.

Barkley is going to be remembered for being a good running back on a horrible team that has no real legacy. That is unless the Giants trade him. It’s in their best interest too. Barkley has real value. He doesn’t have much value on the Giants when he will lose steam when they actually really need him. Trade Saquon Barkley. It’s best for everyone.
