Gerald Everett has a big opportunity ahead of himself in Seattle. After signing one year, $6 million deal with the Seahawks, Everett seems thrilled to suit up in front of the fans in the Pacific Northwest. Well, more so thrilled to play with Russell Wilson.
After years of playing for the division rival Rams, Everett is itching to play for Seattle. More so because he knows Wilson is a big upgrade over the joke that is Jared Goff.
“I haven’t (been) able to play with a quarterback like (Russell Wilson) up to this point in my career,” Everett said, via the team’s official site. “I’ve had a different quarterback each place I’ve been, so to be able to play with a guy of Russ’ caliber is really exciting to me.”
Shots fired? The entire world knows how bad Jared Goff is. The former and current Rams players are just allowed to say it now. Michael Brockers already blasted Goff and then weirdly enough got traded to Detroit. Now Everett is saying Wilson is just on a different planet compared to Goff. He sure as hell isn’t wrong.
From a fantasy perspective, it will be interesting to see if Everett could be a sneaky option. The quarterback upgrade is obvious. However, he now no longer has to split time with Tyler Higbee. The often injured Will Dissly is still on the roster, but if Everett can win that job, he could be in line for big production. A tight end should be able to scoop fantasy points with DK Metcalf and Tyler Lockett as the only other options.
As a former second round pick, it feels like Everett was never able to fully feature his skill set. He has that opportunity in Seattle. Time will tell if the Seahawks made a shrewd investment.
