Just a few days ago, it was reported that Gardner Minshew was put on the Covid-19 reserve list and fear was put into the hearts of Jacksonville Jaguars fans everywhere. But fear not, the jorts lover does not and did not have the virus. Minshew became a fan favourite for his off the field personality and his response to coming off the Covid-19 list is second to none. In classic Minshew fashion, he said:

I did not contract the virus. It took one look at me and ran the other way. Probably in its best interests

All hope seemed lost when Gardner Minshew was placed on the Covid-19 list. The Jacksonville Jaguars are a team that is in the process of rebuilding despite appearing in the AFC Championship a couple years ago. This current regime for the Jaguars need Gardner Minshew to succeed and he showed incredible promise as a rookie. However, Minshew can’t carry the Jaguars to the playoffs as the team has lost too many pieces. The defense that carried them to the AFC Championship game is almost completely gone. Leonard Fournette has been a mixed bag since entering the NFL and he can’t be relied upon to be good or to be bad, it’s a see what happens approach.

The NFL Covid-19 policies indicate that players must be put on the Covid-19 list in two instances. 1) Players test positive for the virus and 2) Players come in close contact with someone on the Covid-19 list as test results are pending. It is extremely likely that Minshew fell under the second instance as he came off the list within days of being put on.

Now the virus ran away from Gardner Minshew but you are not Gardner Minshew, you are not even close. Wear your mask, wash your hands and don’t be that one jerk who’s against masks and then complains about the world having to close again.
