MLB The Show 21 Cover Athlete is Fernando Tatis Jr.

Fernando Tatis Jr is on the cover of this year’s version of MLB The Show, the best baseball video game. This year, for the first time ever the game will be Xbox consoles as well as Playstation systems.

Good for Tatis, and good for baseball for making sure their young stars can have an impact past their local area. Baseball is such a regional sport with TV contracts being so strict and area constricted. I am sure many fans had not even heard of the Padres young superstar until he had to apologize for hitting a home run.

Yeah, baseball’s media is the worst, we saw that last week when the BBWA refused to induct any player into the Hall of Fame. Tatis was embroiled in “controversy” for hitting a grand slam on a 3-0 count.

Yeah how stupid is that, Tatis, in a game that was already a blowout, blew the doors wide open and pissed a lot of people off in the process, including his own manager.

Unwritten baseball rules are stupid, I am all about sportsmanship, but players have contract incentives that account for home runs, RBIs and a whole bunch of other stuff, so if you throw a meatball down the middle expect it to be sent over the fence.

Trevor Bauer who is one of the most vocal leaders amongst MLB players came to Tatis’s defense after the “incident”

1) Keep swinging 3-0 if you want to, no matter what the game situation is, 2) Keep hitting homers, no matter what the situation is 3, Keep brining energy and flash to baseball and making it fun 4) The only thing you did wrong is apologize. Stop that.
