Dwayne Haskins named week 1 starter
Washington Football Team head coach Ron Rivera announced that QB Dwayne Haskins will be Washingtons week 1 starter vs. the Philadelphia Eagles.
The teams twitter account posted this picture, announcing it:
With Alex Smith getting cleared to practice, after a gruesome leg injury, and Washington trading for Kyle Allen in the offseason, there was a bit of a QB competition brewing in Washington. Though Dwayne Haskins was the favorite coming into training camp.
During training camp Dwayne Haskins proved why he was the favorite. Constantly making play after play. As Pete Hailey noted:
Ron Rivera has praised him throughout camp, and continued his support with his official announcement of him becoming the starter.
“He’s going to get the opportunity, and he’s going to get my support”
