Deshaun Watson would ‘love’ reunion with DeAndre Hopkins on Browns

After being separated since 2020, Deshaun Watson would ‘love’ to reunite with his former No. 1 receiver in DeAndre Hopkins.

“Me and D-Hop, we just naturally talk,” Watson said. “We’ve been talking since the Houston days. … He’s always been a brother of mine. … Our connection, our relationship has always been great. … Of course, we would love to have him. He knows that.”

(All quotes are from New York Post.)

The Arizona Cardinals released DeAndre Hopkins after being unable to find a trade partner for the 30-year-old receiver. Now, Hopkins is back on the market for a new team, and the Cleveland Browns are a team to watch out for.

Watson told reporters that he would love to reunite with Hopkins at a Cleveland Browns charity event on Tuesday. He would go on to extend his interest for the veteran and former teammate.

“That’s kind of out of my range of things,” Watson said, according to ESPN. “All I can do is make a call and see what happens.”

The dynamic duo played together from 2017 to 2019. In that time, Hopkins exploded onto the scene, where he was rewarded with three All-Pro selections. In their time together, Watson threw for 9,716 passing yards and 71 touchdowns, including 3,336 passing yards and 25 touchdowns to Hopkins alone — good enough for a 109.5 passer rating between the duo.

Coming off of last season, Hopkins accumulated 64 catches for 717 receiving yards and three touchdowns in only nine games. On the other hand, Watson played three games less than Hopkins with the Browns. The 27-year-old threw for around 1,100 passing yards, seven touchdowns and five interceptions.

Will we see a reunion between the two former Clemson Tigers in Cleveland? Or will Hopkins land somewhere else? Stay tuned with Vendetta for more news surrounding Hopkins, Watson, and more.
