Denzel Mims Calls Philadelphia “Dirty Ass, Trash Ass City”

Denzel Mims was taken in the 2nd round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the New York Jets. Mims was probably thrilled that he was not taken by the Eagles because these next set of comments are something. During a predraft visit to Philadelphia, Mims admitted he was scared of the people. Now he’s taken it a step further.

Mims called Philadelphia a “dirty ass, trash ass city.”

Also, this is what Mims said about Philadelphia before the draft:

“I’ve been to Philadelphia one time, and it was last summer, before the season. I went with a couple teammates, and my head coach. We went up there, and we just spent a lot of time together.

The experience I had, I was very scared. I wasn’t familiar with the whole city, and it was a lot going on. You see a lot of people that look scary. I’m not a part of that, I don’t like that. So I mean, I had a bad experience, you could say, going up there for the first time. But I feel like if I just go there more, and I just get familiar with it, I could have a great time”

I’ll talk about Mims the player first. I did not understand the hype he was getting predraft. Just felt like a limited route runner but had serious issues catching the football. A Big 12 receiver that did some things down the field but got his ass kicked in the Sugar Bowl against Georgia. These comments whether you agree or not just aren’t smart.

Second, I’ll just leave this here. There are plenty part of Philly that are nice.

The other thing to note is Denzel Mims just got drafted by the Jets. Philadelphia might be different from New York but it’s not that different. Both are big metropolitan cities. How the hell is this guy going to fit into that city then? I guess he can live in Jersey but still. All we do know is that Mims really hates Philly.
