We’re going over Daubert’s favorite 2020 NFL Draft prospects for each position including high profile and under the radar names. (Noah K. Murray-USA TODAY Sports)

Daubert: Favorite 2020 NFL Draft Prospects At Each Position

I’m taking this idea from Mel Kiper’s recent blog. This may or may not be the top player on my board at the position. These are just players that I love watching play. Players that I would target in the draft or have rated higher than what most of the public does. What I will do is list a high profile prospect and a lesser name who I love heading into the 2020 NFL Draft for each position.

QB: Tua Tagovailoa

At the end of the day, you should be trying to win Super Bowls. Tua Tagovailoa is the only bonafide franchise changing QB in this draft. I’ve shared my thoughts enough on this. QB1 in this draft all day.

Day 3 Prospect: Cole McDonald

McDonald is a bucket dropper. To me, it makes no sense to take a project like Justin Herbert or Jordan Love so high in the draft when I’m not convinced either is significantly better than McDonald. The Hawaii quarterback has a funky release but there is no denying the production and skillset. McDonald has a big arm and plus athletic traits.

RB: JK Dobbins

Dobbins has the best chance to be a 3 down workhorse of any of these backs. I see a more explosive and maybe more powerful version of Frank Gore. Dobbins hit a ton of home runs in college and has better speed than most give him credit for. He’s already a pro in pass protection too. I love everything about Dobbins. This is a guy who averaged 7.2 yards per carry as a true freshman and passed Ezekiel Elliott and Eddie George on the all time leading rusher list at Ohio State.

RB: Cam Akers

Akers is a physical freak who would go a round or two higher if he played at a better school. Florida State was filled with chaos, bad coaching, and poor offensive line play. Akers showed the kind of movement skills he has at the combine. This is a very special player who will be unleashed at the pro level.

Day 3 Prospect: Anthony McFarland

When looking late in the draft, you want backs who can fill roles. I think McFarland has a chance to be pretty good at the 3rd down – change of pace stuff. Really fast and quick in short areas. Teams should be looking in this direction.

Also big fan of D’Andre Swift, Clyde Edwards-Helaire, and AJ Dillon. I love this running back class.

WR: Jerry Jeudy and CeeDee Lamb

I’ll put this as brief as I can. If it’s not Jeudy or Lamb, don’t pick him in the first round. There’s too much bust potential with first round wide receivers. I get taking Jeudy or Lamb in round 1. Outside of that… c’mon. Don’t be the team that takes Corey Davis in round one.

Honorable mention – KJ Hamler

Round 2 deep threat. I like it.

Day 3 Prospect: Van Jefferson

Van Jefferson is my prized jewel. Route running is king and Jefferson is a technician. All this guy did is kick people’s ass at the Senior Bowl. He also dealt with terrible QB play in college. I’m telling you this man is good. He will be a steal in the middle rounds.

TE: I don’t feel good about this list so I don’t really even have a favorite. Here are the names that would be on my list – in no order. Adam Trautman, Chase Claypool, Thad Moss, Albert Okwuegbunam, Hunter Bryant, Josiah Deguara. Everybody else I’m probably out on.

OT: Andrew Thomas

I thought Thomas was the best tackle all year. I like Jedrick Wills and Tristan Wirfs but Thomas to me feels like the star of the group. I saw him move people like nobody’s business in the SEC.

Day 3 Prospect: Matt Peart or Prince Tega Wanogho

C: I don’t have a good feel where the centers are going in the draft. Let me saw I would be happy coming out of the draft with any of the top names. Cesar Ruiz, Lloyd Cushenberry, Matt Hennessey, Nick Harris, Tyler Biadasz.

G: Solomon Kindley and Netane Muti are my guys.

Pass Rusher: Chase Young

Put Chase Young in the Hall right now. I think he’s a Hall of Famer. How do you not love this guy?

Day 3 Prospect: Josh Uche

Uche might actually get pushed up the board a bit but I think he’s still under the radar. Uche has 14.5 sacks the past two years at Michigan. 2018 might be even more impressive because he did it as a part time player behind Rashan Gary and Chase Winovich. I love his bend around the corner. Could be a real sleeper.

DT: Derrick Brown

Derrick Brown is that dude. He can’t fail, Brown is too powerful. Brown is just so much fun to watch. Man amongst boys. I’m higher on Brown than most I think he’s a top 5 talent in the draft.

Day 3 Prospect: McTelvin Agim

Agim actually has sack production with 9.5 the past two years. I think he could bulk up and function as a nose tackle. I liked what I saw at the East-West game.

LB: I’m not neccesarrily in love with any of the linebackers but I’m a fan of Kenneth Murray, Patrick Queen, and Malik Harrison. I’d also take fliers on Shaq Quarterman, Shaun Bradley, and Michael Divinity.

CB: Jeff Okudah

It’s gotta be Okudah. The man didn’t get called for a penalty all year. That’s lunacy.

Day 3 Prospect: I’m just going to list a bunch of names that I like: AJ Green, Lavert Hill, Shyheim Carter, Darnay Holmes, Bryce Hall, and Troy Pride.

Holmes might be my favorite of that group. His feet at the combine wowed me.

S: Grant Delpit

Ball skills, ball skills, and ball skills. Nobody covers better than Grant Delpit. He has to be my favorite. 6-foot-3 too and should be able to be used on tight ends.

Day 3 Prospect: JR Reed

Reed is such a smart and instinctive player for Georgia. If he had more interception production, he would go way higher. However, Reed did swat 7 balls away. I think he’s way undervalued right now.
