Alexander, 24, was a two star DE coming out of high school. During the 2019 cycle, he was also the 30th ranked player in the state of Indiana. He spent all six seasons with Toledo. Of course, he’s since gained more mass and has moved more so as an interior DL player.

The pre-draft process has been kind to Alexander. The Combine wasn’t outstanding, but he lit up the Senior Bowl. Not to mention the Bowl game, where he totally destroyed the game. Toledo probably doesn’t beat Pitt without him.

We’re definitely talking about a late bloomer here. Is Alexander only good because he started to do work as an older player? He didn’t really become a starter until his 5th college season. That’s while playing in the MAC. He made Third-team All-MAC in 2023 and Second-team All-MAC this past year. Over the last two years as a starter, Alexander has 7.5 sacks.

Definitely not an elite athlete but checks in at 6-foot-4, 305, with 34 inch arms. Uses that length to his advantage and ripped out 28 reps on the bench. The power element to his game was evident when I watched him. You’re just not getting one of those crazy twitched up guys here.

I have a middle round grade on Darius Alexander. I don’t think he’s an elite player, but definitely a developmental player with plus traits that can help you as a rotational piece to your front.
