Dak Prescott, quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys, underwent considerable mental and physical strains while playing for America’s most popular football team in 2020.
After losing his mother and his brother within three months last year, Prescott struggled with anxiety and depression and became an advocate for mental health awareness. During the 2020 season, he only played five games before going down with a dislocated and compound fracture on his right ankle. Despite what Prescott has endured over the last year, he is nevertheless under the most pressure this upcoming season.

The last time the Dallas Cowboys clinched the NFC East Division was in 2018, during Prescott’s second year as the Cowboys’ starting quarterback. The NFC East Division remains arguably the easiest division to clinch due to the number of games the four teams win on average, and Prescott is under considerable pressure to clinch again after signing a 4-year, 160-million-dollar contract.
Not only did Prescott sign a hefty contract in March, but he also signed a 5-year deal with Jordan, making him the only quarterback and highest-paid NFL player to wear the Jordan brand. Fans, journalists, and sports media personalities will target Prescott for his NFL and Jordan brand contracts if he does not perform well this season, and despite Prescott’s difficult 2020, he may be the quarterback under the most pressure in 2021.
