The Clippers Landing Kawhi Leonard And Paul George Is About A Lot Of Things

Every night I seem to wake up in the middle of the night. For whatever reason, I decided to check my phone quickly. After five minutes, I knew I wasn’t going back to sleep. The Los Angeles Clippers just secured the title in the upcoming season barring injury and it all happened while I was sleeping. Kawhi Leonard and Paul George are coming to the Clippers.

The craziest part is that this is more than just about Leonard and George. It’s about a lot of things.

Before we begin, it should first be mentioned how amazing Jerry West is. He turned what was a failing concept in Lob City and turned it into the best team in the NBA that has Leonard, George, and a really nice nucleus in place. Chris Paul turned into Patrick Beverley, Lou Williams, and Montrezl Harrell. Later the Clippers turned Blake Griffin into Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, and Landry Shamet. Whoever you want to give credit, whether it be Lawrence Frank, Michael Winger, or West; This Clippers front office has been unbelievable.

SIDE NOTE: Chalk up another win for me. I saw this Clippers storm coming from a mile away. Remember that time I gave the Pistons an F for the Blake Griffin trade? I got a lot of hate from some clueless fanboys.

The first set of tweets is about Russell Westbrook who people continue to defend. Don’t worry, we will get to him later. The next set has a lot to dive into. Of course, that coward, Jake Mackey is involved. Couldn’t find his tweets, but don’t worry, I already cursed him and his beloved Titans. Dustin is a guy who joined the site in the early stages but quit after about 3 days. Maybe it was because he didn’t have the work ethic. Maybe it’s because he just doesn’t have my level of mental capacity. Maybe it’s both. Either way, this guy might be one of the bigger idiots I’ve ever come across. I gave the Pistons an F for the Blake Griffin trade and got these snarky comments.

Now I don’t know much about this Duncan Smith person. I assume he does something relevant (maybe I shouldn’t assume that) with a big website? I really do not know. Here’s what I do know. This guy is either a Pistons’ homer and they can do no wrong or this guy is flat out stupid. There is a reason why blue check marks often mean nothing. This Pistons trade for Blake Griffin never made any sense and was always going to be a win for the Clippers.

Okay, done exposing the morons. Had to do it, it’s part of the brand. The Clippers front office didn’t make a mistake. Every asset turned into a better one. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was part of the Griffin trade. Tobias Harris turned into draft picks via Philly that turned into Paul George. That trade landed Kawhi Leonard. Even stealing a player like Landry Shamet is so important. Go down the list. The Clippers have an excellent track record that eventually set themselves up for success.

The next thing that needs to be mentioned is the biggest cancer that the NBA has to offer. How many times does this thing have to happen to Westbrook before people just admit he is an unwinnable player. Kevin Durant left Westbrook and a vast majority of people couldn’t understand why. Now Paul George wanted out and somehow this isn’t supposed to be a slander towards Westbrook. I said a long time ago that I would trade Russell Westbrook for a bag of chips. A bag of chips wouldn’t have run James Harden, Kevin Durant, and Paul George out of town.

I get why Paul George did this. He has to save face. He has to say this so it’s not a further distraction. He doesn’t want to be called a snake like Durant. Who cares, Paul? Just lean into it. Any person that has an ounce of a brain knows the truth. Russell Westbrook is the biggest cancer in the NBA. You can’t win with him. How many years do we have to watch the Thunder underachieve despite the surrounding talent? BUT… “unfinished business”!!! George figured out the truth in two years. Despite having a very talented team, the Thunder could never win a first round series against the okay Jazz and the do nothing Trail Blazers. I don’t know what more you need to see with Westbrook. He’s utterly worthless.

Think about that. All of those other things finally lead us to Paul George and Kawhi Leonard. The scrappy 8 seed Clippers found a way to create the best team in the NBA. With Durant on the shelf with an Achilles injury, Kawhi Leonard is the best player in the NBA. Leonard’s run leading the Raptors to the title is one of the best playoff runs ever. Leonard just won a title with Kyle Lowry, Danny Green, Marc Gasol, and Pascal Siakam as his running mates. Those players are now Pat Beverley, Montrezl Harrell, Paul George, and Landry Shamet. That’s not including Lou Williams, the Florida State draft picks, Mo Harkless, and Ivica Zubac. This Clippers team is winning the title barring injury. Not only is this team awesome offensively, but they are also the best defensive team in the NBA too. The craziest thing about this Leonard and George pairing is it’s not just about them. It’s about a lot of things. Forget about what the Lakers are doing, the NBA in Los Angeles revolves around the Clippers.
