Chris Godwin: Deserves Way More Respect From Fantasy Managers
I want Chris Godwin in every 2022 Fantasy Football draft if humanly possible. We can sit here and chat about what injuries mean for individual players. In the case of Godwin, I do not care because his ranking is so outrageous I’m in a no-lose scenario. It’s insane how little respect the Bucs wide receiver is receiving in the fantasy rankings.
Fantasy Pros has Godwin listed as WR 28. Rashod Bateman and Elijah Moore and the two names listed ahead of and behind Godwin. I’m sorry, that’s nuts. I will happily take all of the Godwin stock. In fact, anything short of WR15 and I think you’re out of your mind.
For receivers that played in at least 10 games a year ago, Godwin finished as WR14 in points per game last year and still missed time with a knee injury. The year prior given those same parameters, Godwin was WR13. Now we’re going to list him at WR28? For what?
I’m aware that Chris Godwin tore his ACL a year ago but you do realize he’s basically free, right? I just got Godwin in our site league for $5. The same guy who’s still 26 and in the same offseason Tampa gave Godwin a $60 million extension. Do you think if there was any hesitation with the injury that Tampa would have given him that contract? Stop being stupid and keep up.
This is still a first place team and we know Tom Brady is going to be there this time. Why the hesitation? Really going to sit here and pretend washed Julio Jones matters? Really going to sit here and say Russell Gage is stealing those Godwin looks? It’s nonsense. Does it matter if Godwin plays in Week 1 given the already baked-in discount?
Chris Godwin is easily the biggest bargain in 2022 fantasy leagues and if you don’t pick him it’s based on pure stupidity. Don’t talk to me if he can outscore Rashod Bateman or Elijah Moore. Talk to me if he’s outscoring Mike Evans or not.
