Carlos Beltrán to join YES Network as Yankees game analyst
9-time All-Star Carlos Beltrán is set to join the YES Network as a part-time game analyst for the New York Yankees. The news was shared with current game analyst Jack Curry on Twitter late Friday afternoon.
This will be his first role with the Yankees since he was hired as a special advisor to General Manager Brian Cashman in late 2018. Beltrán played 341 games for the Yankees from 2014 to 2016. He amassed a single All-Star in the Bronx, a batting average of .270, an RBI of 180, and 56 home runs.
Beltrán was last seen as the manager of the New York Mets back in January 2020. He left by mutual agreement before he even managed a single game. This was because of his involvement with the Houston Astros’ sign-stealing scandal, where he was called out publicly and forced to apologize. He still ended up winning a World Series in Houston, playing his final game on October 1st, 2017.
Surprisingly, he suffered very little from his involvement since and stayed out of the limelight. He now returns to add analysis to the Yankees organization and seems to be heading more towards a career in broadcasting. Pundits have relatively been onboard with the appointment to the network, as they needed new voices. Fans, however, have given mixed responses.
