Cam Newton Is The Answer At QB In Chicago

It’s no secret that the Chicago Bears season has been a disappointment to this point in the season. Most of that falls on Mitch Trubisky, who was destined to fail in this league. This offense is ranking 27th in points, 30th in passing and 29th in total yards per game. The biggest reason for that is they have a guy at the helm that has lost all confidence in his game, to the point he is asking to have all the TVs off in the building as to not be reminded of how awful he is. Its a shame this great defensive staff is being put to waste, but that can all be fixed this offseason in one single move: trade for Cam Newton.

Cam Newton, former #1 overall pick of the Carolina Panthers back in 2011, has recently been placed on IR to recover from a foot injury. It doesn’t help he has seemingly lost his starting job to Kyle Allen, who has played well enough this season. Their offense, though, has been carried by Christian McCaffrey, who gets my vote for MVP so far this season. Once Cam Newton gets back to 100%, the Panthers would be wise to move the 2015 NFL MVP and give Allen the reigns of the offense. A change of scenery can do a man a lot of good, see Drew Brees for example. Injury forces him to lose his job, goes to another team and becomes one of the most prolific passers in league history. I’m not saying Newton will be Drew Brees, but he can turn his career around with a new offense and a young and hungry defense.

The writing is on the wall in Carolina: Cam Newton’s days are numbered. There are plenty of teams who should be calling for his services, and the team that needs him most is Chicago. We all know Ryan Pace hasn’t shown an ability to run a franchise to this point, but he can fix it by going out and making a smart trade for a Quarterback, unlike 2017. If they do, and Cam returns to what he can be? Watch out for this Chicago Bears team in 2020.
