The Sacramento Kings are the shocking story of the NBA. They actually have something to look forward to. Marvin Bagley looks like a successful draft pick. DeAaron Fox has popped in year 2. The biggest leaper of all may just be Buddy Hield who has improved leaps and bounds during his first 4 years in the NBA. The Kings haven’t made the playoffs in 12 years but Hield is super confident that will change in 2019.
Hield told reporters that he would be willing to bet his house the Kings make the postseason dance this year:
“Very confident. I’d bet my house on it,” Hield told reporters Wednesday. “I make a lot of money to buy the next one.”
“You can’t bet your dogs,” Hield said. “I’m just confident. If I don’t say it, [reporters] will say, ‘He’s not confident enough.’ That’s how I was raised. I trust in God, and hopefully, he favors us.”
The Kings are 30-27 on the season and are one game out of the 8th seed in the West behind the Clippers. The good news for the Kings is that the Clippers traded their best player, Tobias Harris at the deadline to the 76ers. That should give the Kings a boost. With 25 games to go, Hield appears more than confident the Kings can get the job done.
