Bryce Harper Is Philadelphia

Nobody is representing the city of Philadelphia better than Bryce Harper. Mark my words, he is in for a big 2nd half of the season (Hunter Martin/Getty Images)

Everyone has their own opinion of Bryce Harper. Its either you love him, or you hate him. You think that he deserves his contract, or you think that he’s extremely overrated. Well, I’m here to tell you that you are entitled to whatever opinion you want of the guy. That’s your god-given right, but expect big things from Bryce in the second half of the season. The reason that I love this guy is because he has completely embraced being a part of the city of Philadelphia. The dude plays hard every single day, is tough as nails, and he just loves this damn city. He knows how passionate Philly is about their teams and how many times we’ve had our hearts broken before, and he wants to change that. He is trying to restore us to our glory days and for that he has my respect. Sure, we boo our guys when they aren’t doing well, but that’s because we care! He knows that and appreciates the tough love.

Bryce has had a hot-cold first half of the season, but that’s all going to change. Harper is traditionally a second-half player, and since the All-Star Game, he has been absolutely CRUSHING the ball. He’s been hitting moonshots and walk-offs for the last week. I’m predicting Bryce Harper is going to start to really come into his own the next couple of months. He’s going to finish the year with a .280 batting average with 35 dingers and 100 RBIs. Now yeah, those are some bold predictions some would say they’re borderline delusional. Yeah, maybe I am a little delusional, maybe I am a little crazy. I’m a Philly fan. We’re all a little crazy. I still don’t think this team makes the playoffs sadly. It was a lost season because our pitching flat out blows and Gabe Kapler just isn’t ready to be a manager. I love Philly, I love this team, and I love Bryce Harper.
