Billy Bowman 2025 NFL Draft Profile

The grind doesn’t stop. Billy Bowman is the next target for the 2025 NFL Draft profile series, and I’m just going to jump right in if you don’t mind.

Bowman, 22, was a four star prospect during the 2022 cycle. That includes being tagged as the 40th overall player, second ranked athlete, and 5th overall player in the state of Texas. The senior spent all four years with the Oklahoma Sooners.

I’ve been tracking this player for a while. Honestly, you can probably find Bowman notes from 2023 if you search for it. He took over as a starter during his freshman year and really turned a corner as a junior. That junior season includes six interceptions, and three of them got returned for scores. After making First-team All-Big 12 in 2023, Bowman finished things off with 54 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, 2 INTs, 3 PBUs, and a Third-team All-SEC selection.

The Combine confirmed basically all the rest of what I needed to see. It was truly a hell of a showing. All of the knee bend stuff was there while ripping out a 4.42. He even notched 17 bench press reps, which is damn good for a safety who checks in at 5-foot-10, 192.

He’s not an ace tackler, but that’s about the only real negative here. The ball skills are obvious. I think he can actually be a real corner in coverage. Good instincts with plus long and short speed. 58 missed tackles over the last three years isn’t great, but this dude can really cover with range.

I like Billy Bowman. I have him as a round 3-4 type of guy and ranks as one of the better safeties in this draft. Sure, maybe he’s not top of the class, but I think you’re getting a really solid contributor here.
