After a hiatus that started in 2014, Big Time Rush has announced their return via social media.
This will be a true reunion, as all four of the original band members will be on tour. Fans will have the opportunity to see Logan Henderson, James Maslow, Carlos Pena Jr., and Kendall Schmidt live in Chicago or New York City in December. These are currently the only scheduled tour dates, but I would be surprised if they stopped there. After the success of the Jonas Brothers reunion tour, I would expect something similar from Big Time Rush, who garnered a fairly large following of their own. New music on the horizon wouldn’t shock me either.
Big Time Rush had their own Nickelodeon show of the same name that ran for four seasons from 2009 to 2013. It’s interesting to think about, just because it was a fictional show about a real band that was played by the real band, but they played characters with the same first names and different last names as themselves. Weird.
Anyway, I’m decidedly neutral on Big Time Rush. I didn’t really watch the show outside of flipping channels and catching a few snippets. “Windows Down” is an absolute banger of a song, but I’m not super familiar with their overall catalog. For fans of the band from back in the day, this is exciting news, especially given the potential for a future tour or more music.
