The Giants are $26.09 on SimBull (3.23.21)
The New York Giants have finally made some moves this offseason, but is that worth their price on SimBull? They look to be putting themselves in a position to try and win the NFC East. Their division is a mess with the quarterback turnover for the teams they play twice a year.
The Giants signed a big-play threat in Kenny Golladay and defensive back Adoree’ Jackson. They are improving on both sides of the ball but most importantly adding weapons for Daniel Jones, their quarterback still on his rookie contract. However, Kam one of our writers said in his off-season needs post that he thought another receiver is not enough for the Giants.
Joe Judge seems to be doing something right as it appears players are buying in, He made the Giants a competitive team despite the injury to Jones that left Colt McCoy starting meaningful games down the stretch.
They brought in Jackson to help on defense, and also made sure to keep Leonard Williams on their defensive line who is valuable against the run. Their defense isn’t bad, but I don’t think that is enough.
Ball security is so important as a quarterback, and Jones turns the ball over too much to win close games down the stretch. There is a point in every season where a part of your team doesn’t bring their A-game. When push comes to shove you can not give away extra possessions or turn the ball over when your defense needs a breather.
However, I am writing this before the 2021 NFL Draft. Dave Gettleman is on the hot seat most likely, so if he wants to keep his job he needs to draft well. Judge has a chance to work with his group for a real offseason, a true training camp, and will get more time in the building with his young guys. This is his chance to improve on 6-10, but they are NOT worth the buy on SimBull.
