The apple clearly does not fall far from the tree in the Cromartie household, as Antonio Cromartie Jr., a three-star recruit out of Carrolton HS and son of former All-Pro Antonio Cromartie, will be following his father’s footsteps by attending Florida State. His father was a Seminole from 2003-2005 before eventually being taken 19th overall by the San Deigo Chargers.
Antonio Cromartie Jr. spoke to Noles247 about his decision to commit to Florida State and what it means to follow in his father’s footsteps:

“It feels great to have the opportunity,” Cromartie said. “I’m blessed to have the opportunity to continue the legacy here, and having the opportunity to have an impact on the field and have fun doing it.”
“Family ties, but I’ve been coming here and I’ve seen three coaches, and there’s something special about coach Norvell,” Cromartie said. “He’s trying to build something special, and he really cares about this program. He really loves to coach this program. So it’s that, and the family ties that I have here. It’s just a special place.”
Antonio Cromartie Jr. had three other offers: Southeast Missouri State, UT Martin, and Wofford. The decision to play for his dad’s alma mater was likely a very easy one. This puts Cromartie Jr. on the biggest platform possible, but the continuation from father to son to put on the same uniform will be a special moment in that household. In his senior season, Cromartie Jr. totaled 85 tackles to go along with four pass breakups, four forced fumbles, two quarterback pressures and one interception.
