Who is the best tackle prospect in the 2020 NFL Draft? Right now it seems like Mekhi Becton, Tristan Wirfs, and Jedrick Wills are all vying for that top spot. What if they are all wrong answers. I gotta be honest, I watched zero seconds on Louisville this year. I watched a handful of Iowa games. I watched a ton of Alabama games. Jedrick Wills wasn’t even the best tackle on his own team. Nobody sniffed Andrew Thomas. The Georgia left tackle is the best of the bunch.

Sometimes you have to use common sense on these things. Don’t get me wrong, I love D’Andre Swift. He didn’t average 6.6 yards per carry by himself in a conference like the SEC. Andrew Thomas hammered defenders in the run game all year. You want to talk about running lanes? Look no further than the ones Georgia provided. A lot of them started on the left side with Andrew Thomas.

Thomas was a day one starter for Georgia as a True Freshman. Not an easy thing to do. The man has been a rock from the jump. The power he displays is not hard to spot. Thomas has prototypical size (6-foot-5, 320) and moves around well. You saw him on numerous occasions getting to the second level of the defense without a hitch. Thomas also has 36 1/8 inch arms. That sure as hell plays.

Thomas performed well at the combine too. Forget about the 40 and all that. Thomas was an easy mover in all the drills. You name it, Thomas looked good doing it. Turn on the film, that’s what starting NFL left tackle looks like. There were no issues in pass sets.

Thomas was a 5-star highly decorated high school recruit. He’s done nothing but dominate every step of the way. This past year, Thomas gave up 9 pressures in 14 games. Not 9 sacks allowed 9 pressures where the quarterback had to move a little. What am I missing here? Whoever drafts Andrew Thomas is getting an All-Pro level starter for the next decade plus. There’s not a shot in hell 3 tackles are better than Thomas. I’ll take that bet all day.
