Amon-Ra St. Brown: “I’m Ready To Take Someone’s Job.”

Amon-Ra St Brown had to wait until the fourth round to get the phone call informing him that he was going to the NFL. After being picked by the Detroit Lions, St. Brown has the chance to make an immediate impact.

Detroit’s wide receiver room is basically empty, with the team’s most notable receivers being Tyrell Williams and Breshad Perriman. St. Brown has a great opportunity to become the number one guy, and it is not an opportunity he intends to waste.

“I’m excited to be here. I’m excited to work and I’m ready to take someone’s job.”

Brown is also coming into his rookie season with a massive chip on his shoulder.

“I’m never going to forget the 15 receivers that went before me in the draft. That’s kind of the chip that I have on my shoulder coming in, everything that I do. Whenever I’m thinking about anything, that just comes back to my mind and it just motivates me to do more.”

After emerging undervalued from a very deep wide receiver draft, St. Brown is looking forward to being a starter in his rookie season and proving those who chose not to pick him wrong. With Detroit so bereft of talent at wideout, St. Brown could quickly become Jared Goff’s favorite target if he has a strong training camp.

St. Brown has the motivation and opportunity to become Detroit’s number one wide receiver, but whether or not he can accomplish that goal remains to be seen.
