AEW Rampage Preview (9/2/22): The Go-Home Show Before All Out

AEW Rampage is the final stop before All Out. With the All Out match card pretty much complete, we are left with a lackluster Rampage show. There isn’t much on the line with this episode of Rampage, it’s mostly just building the hype for the matches at All Out. Here’s a preview of what to expect heading into this episode of AEW Rampage.

We Hear From Swerve in our Glory and The Acclaimed

We are set to hear from tag team champions Swerve in our Glory and the Acclaimed before their match at All Out. Last week, Swerve in our Glory helped the Acclaimed and came to their rescue. After that, Swerve in our Glory decided to grant the Acclaimed a shot at the tag team titles. They are going to meet face-to-face to help build the hype for their match All Out. I fully expect this to be an extremely entertaining segment and I think it will build the excitement for the match.

Interview with Jade Cargill and Athena

Mark Henry is going to conduct a sit-down interview with TBS champion, Jade Cargill and her challenger, Athena. The two women are set to fight at All Out for the TBS title. But before that, they are going to conduct an interview. It’s safe to assume this one might end in a brawl as these two women do not like each other. The point of this segment is to build the hype for their match and I think it will do that.

Sammy Guevara & Tay Melo vs Ortiz & Ruby Soho

These four met last week on Rampage where Guevara and Melo got the better of Ortiz and Soho. Ortiz and Soho get a shot at revenge with this rematch. Ortiz and Soho have had their fair of run-ins with Guevara and Melo over the past couple of months. They’re a part of two groups who absolutely hate each other. They just want to fight and they are going to do just that on AEW Rampage. It is going to be interesting to see where both teams go from here.

QT Marshall vs Ricky Starks

Ricky Starks is set to face off against his former best friend, Powerhouse Hobbs, at All Out. But before that, he has to go through QT Marshall, leader of The Factory. The Factory have been targeting Starks after Starks embarrassed them by not joining them. They have been attacking him left and right and now Starks gets a shot at revenge by facing their leader. With Powerhouse Hobbs in the back of his head, Starks is going to have to stay focused on the current task if he wants to talk out of Rampage with a win. Also, Starks is looking to carry some momentum into All Out by getting a good win against a veteran of AEW.

Dark Order & Hangman Page vs Best Friends

After Evil Uno got hurt after an attack by Andrade el Idolo, Jon Silver and Alex Reynolds looked to Hangman Page to be their third member. This is the semi-final match in the AEW trios tournament. The winner will advance to the finals and take on The Elite to crown the inaugural AEW trios champions. The finals will be held at All Out and crown the first-ever champions. AEW has been putting on incredible trios matches, so I think this one will be no different.

These are six men who know how to wrestle, so I fully expect a really good match. But both teams are looking to change the projection of their careers. Both the Dark Order and Best Friends have been lacking success in AEW over the past year. So with a win here and a shot to become the first-ever trio’s champions, both teams need to leave it all in the ring.
