AEW Dynamite Preview (11/9/22): Two Foes Meet Face-to-Face

This week’s AEW Dynamite is set to feature some of the biggest stars in the company. With Full Gear quickly approaching, the stakes are rising fast. A lot of feuds are coming to their breaking point, so a lot can happen in the two hours of Dynamite. Also, it’s likely that AEW will add more matches to the Full Gear match card. So with the stakes being this high and the biggest names in AEW on the show, let’s take a look at what to expect heading into AEW Dynamite.

We’ll hear From MJF

Since making his return to AEW at All Out, MJF has been nothing short of mesmerizing. He is seemingly having a change of character over the last couple of weeks. But this is the first time we will hear from him after The Firm turned on him and brutally attacked him. MJF will be facing Jon Moxley at Full Gear for the AEW World Championship. So with a lot on his mind, it’s safe to assume MJF will have much to say on AEW Dynamite.

We’ll Hear From Jon Moxley

Moxley will speak for the first time since he got attacked by The Firm last week. Moxley is going to be defending his AEW World Championship at Full Gear, but that doesn’t mean he hasn’t been wrestling. Moxley has been accepting any and all challengers over the past couple of weeks. With a lot on the line in the coming weeks, what will Moxley have to say?

Saraya and Britt Baker Meet Face-to-Face

Since arriving in AEW, Saraya and Britt Baker haven’t gotten along. The two simply don’t like each other. They are now going to meet face-to-face on AEW Dynamite.

Last week, they were supposed to have a sit-down interview with Renee Paquette, but Baker didn’t show up. In that interview, Renee asked Saraya about if she was going to wrestle to which Saraya responded by saying she wanted to see one more doctor. Also, Saraya said she will address her wrestling future this week. So it’s likely we will get Baker vs. Saraya at Full Gear.

Skye Blue vs. Jamie Hayter

Jamie Hayter has an opportunity to win the interim AEW Women’s World Championship at Full Gear, but first, she has to go through Skye Blue. Blue is a young prospect in AEW with a bright future. She has held a couple of championships in smaller independent companies but hasn’t seen much success in AEW. She mostly competes on AEW Dark and AEW Dark Elevation.

With nothing to lose and a lot to prove, Blue can change the outlook of her future with one match, while a loss for Hayter on AEW Dynamite would be a devastating blow to her momentum.

The Acclaimed (c) and FTR vs. Swerve In Our Glory and Gunn Club

This is the classic tale of two teams coming together to take down their enemies. The Acclaimed are defending their Tag-Team Championships at Full Gear against Swerve in our Glory.

Recently, Swerve Strickland and Keith Lee haven’t been on the same page. Strickland seemingly isn’t in a good state of mind as he kidnapped Billy Gunn and broke his fingers so he couldn’t scissor on his birthday. Swerve in our Glory also beat FTR to become the No. 1 contender for the tag titles with the help of the Gunn Club. The Gunn Club has been mocking FTR every week. They continue to dress up as them and taunt them.

So now, the Acclaimed and FTR get to get revenge on Swerve in our Glory and the Gunn Club on AEW Dynamite.

Eddie Kingston vs. Ethan Page

This is the first match for the AEW world title eliminator tournament. The tournament features Bandido, Rush, Lance Archer, Ricky Starks, Brian Cage and Dante Martin. The finals will be held at Full Gear with the winner getting a shot at the AEW World Championship at Winter is Coming.

Eddie Kingston and Ethan Page are no strangers to each other. They have crossed paths numerous times before in various promotions, although the two have only met three times in singles competition –Kingston holds two victories over Page.

Page recently joined The Firm and has shown a more aggressive side. He is tired of waiting around and has decided to take what he feels he deserves which is why he was one of the first to announce themselves for the tournament.

This tournament has the opportunity to change one man’s future in AEW, so every match needs to be wrestled like it’s their last.

Best 2-out-of-3 Falls Match

Sammy Guevara vs. Bryan Danielson

Sammy Guevara and Bryan Danielson are a part of two groups that absolutely hate each other. After a couple of losses to the leader of the Jericho Appreciation Society, Chris Jericho, Danielson was frustrated and he took it out on Guevara on AEW Dynamite last week. That was the first time these two wrestled against each other. Following that match, Guevara challenged Danielson to a best 2-out-of-3 falls match to prove he is better than Danielson.

Danielson and Guevara will meet at Full Gear in a fatal four-way match with Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship. The Blackpool Combat Club has been showing some cracks within them. Recently, they haven’t been on the same page and it has shown. So, Danielson is looking to take out his aggression on poor Guevara on Dynamite.
