300 Is One Of The Greatest Movies Ever Created
I don’t care what anybody says, the movie 300 still gets me going. I know, the movie came out in 2006. It doesn’t matter. 300 still needs to be recognized as one of the greatest movies ever created. I will plant my flag on that one.
Every night before I was about to compete, I loved to watch a motivational movie. The Rocky Balboa series got its full share of usage from those VHS tapes during my younger days. If I was still wrestling, 300 would be a staple.
This movie just has it all. I’m a sucker for anything that has a historical reference point. The Battle of Thermopylae is one of the most important battles in human history. 300 Spartans whipped out hundreds of thousands of Persian warriors? Tell me more!
Of course, that leads me down a rabbit hole about what happened during the Greco-Persian Wars. I love history. It provides life lessons and new perspectives. Like the fact that all Spartans were sent to intense training at the age of 7. Then we wonder why they smoked everyone?
Unless you have done it, the amount of training, eating regime, focus, etc it takes to look and fight like that? It automatically commands respect. These guys would rather die than retreat. Just to see the mentality that these Spartans have always brought me joy.
This movie is an all-timer. The only real parts I didn’t like are the parts where you can tell they added weird wrinkles for no reason just to make it better for the occasional viewer. Wasn’t necessary. Give me more war scenes. Then again, I’m not complaining. I can watch this movie at any time. It’s an all-timer.
