2023 NFL Draft War Room: Kansas City Chiefs
War Room plus mock draft simulator all in one post? That’s right! We’re going in depth on every single team heading into the 2023 NFL Draft. First up is the Kansas City Chiefs fresh off winning their second Super Bowl with Patrick Mahomes at the helm. What will Brett Veach do on draft day? That’s what the War Room series is all about.
Each post will include a full video breakdown that does a combination of how I feel / trying to project what each team will do. Some general managers are more predictable than others and will try to provide that angle when necessary.

The goal for the Chiefs in the first round should be finding that Orlando Brown replacement. Brown signed with Cincinnati and KC responded by bringing in Jawaan Taylor. Either way, Andrew Wylie is gone too so drafting another tackle is imperative. I think we did the best we could in our video.
At some point, it’s time to get another wide receiver. Kadarius Toney is cute. Skyy Moore is a low-key bum but he’s whatever. Does a guy like Marvin Mims make sense? Someone who provides real deep threat ability? We already did our profile on Mims if you want to look. He should be considered a great fit for the Chiefs.
The rest of the draft feels pretty straight forward. Load up on defense. Maybe grab another running back. Can’t get wrong adding pieces to this defense. Everything needs work on that end.
