2022 NFL Best Games of the Week: Week 4

As we enter Week 4 of the NFL season, teams are really starting to take form. We have a handful of teams that are surprising us, both in a good way and in a wrong way. We have a surprise 3-0 team, and a surprise 0-3 team. Teams like Jacksonville and the Giants have looked excellent to start the year, but can they keep it up? We will look at every team listed above and others in our 2022 NFL best games of the week, Week 4 edition!

Honorable Mention: Bears at Giants, Dolphins at Bengals

5) Jaguars at Eagles (1:00 p.m ET, CBS)

One of the biggest surprises this season has been the Jacksonville Jaguars, who currently sit at 2-1 coming off an impressive blowout of the Los Angeles Chargers last week. The Jaguars have the #1 ranked rush defense in the league, spearheading their resurgence. They will have their hands full against an Eagles team that can beat you on the ground and in the air. Two writers in our overreactions post done by Matt Hanifan, who is good stuff, have Hurts as a favorite to win the MVP this year. Another strong performance here should make him the betting favorite.

4) Rams at 49ers (MNF, 8:15 p.m. ET, ESPN)

The defending Super Bowl champs head up the coast to San Francisco for a pivotal early-season divisional matchup. The Los Angeles Rams are looking to find some consistency on both sides of the ball, as their up-and-down play has almost cost them two games already this year. With the 49ers, their defense has been great to start the year, but the offense has needed to play catch up. Jimmy Garoppolo will be starting the rest of the year after the injury to Trey Lance, maybe that is what the team needed to find some cohesion.

3) Broncos at Raiders (4:25 p.m. ET, CBS)

This is the biggest game of the season for the Las Vegas Raiders. If there was ever as important a must-win game, it is this right here. There have only been four teams in NFL history who have started 0-4 and went on to make the playoffs. Yes, there is an extra game but the hill is still very hard to climb. Luckily for Vegas, they are facing a Broncos team that has zero identity on offense. If Vegas can chip away at a great Broncos defense and get to the 24+ point mark, they should have this game in the bag.

2) Bills at Ravens (1:00 p.m ET, CBS)

Our top two games for this edition of the 2022 NFL best games of the week feature elite Quarterback matchups. This one sees Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills travel to Baltimore and face Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. The Bills were upset by the Miami Dolphins last week and will be searching to prove that game was a fluke. For Baltimore, it is the Lamar Jackson show. He is going out every week and putting on incredible performance after incredible performance. This will be his biggest challenge of the week, as the Bills have the number two rush defense in the league.

Our Best Game of the Week: Chiefs at Buccaneers (8:20 p.m. ET, NBC)

On any given week, a matchup between Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen would be number one. But when you have Patrick Mahomes going against Tom Brady, on primetime nonetheless, that takes the cake. The Chiefs’ costly interception last week gave them their first loss of the year against the Colts in a game that, on paper, they should have handled with ease. This week is no cakewalk. This game might be moved to Minneapolis due to Hurricane Ian, that is something to keep an eye on. The Bucs have been battered with injuries to start the year, but a win over an AFC powerhouse would show the rest of the NFC they are still a team to watch out for.
