2022-23 Los Angeles Dodgers Offseason Wishlist

With the free agent rumors and trade buzz blowing up Major League Baseball, the Dodgers need to make some moves to stay relevant. After losing key pieces there are actual wants and needs for Los Angeles. Let’s take a look. Keep in mind, these are players I believe should be playing for the Dodgers.

Carlos Rodon – SP

There is no reason why the Dodgers shouldn’t make a big push for this talented lefthander. After losing Tyler Anderson, they need to fill the void. Carlos Rodon, 29, provides that. He had a stellar year for San Francisco, going 14-8 with a 2.88 ERA, 237 strikeouts and a league-leading 2.25 FIP.

Carlos Correa – SS

With Trea Turner hinting at the fact he’d like to return to the east coast, Carlos Correa seems like the logical move for a number of reasons. First of all, he is the youngest shortstop free agent at 28. He also is incredibly talented, posting an OPS+ of 140 with 22 home runs last season.

Aaron Judge – OF

It’s looking more and more likely Cody Bellinger won’t be returning to Los Angeles, after putting up another very subpar season. And that’s okay, as it opens the gates for Aaron Judge, the American League MVP. An outfield with him, Mookie Betts and Chris Taylor would indeed be the best in baseball.

Brandon Nimmo – OF

Los Angeles, especially Andrew Friedman, thrives on players who get on base. The man for the job is Brandon Nimmo. Not only is he great defensively, but his career on-base percentage is .385, and an OPS+ of 130. He’s expected to ask for a lot, but I’d say he’s worth it especially if Bellinger leaves.

Justin Verlander – SP

With Walker Buehler and Tyler Anderson both not playing for LA in 2023, and uncertainty with Tony Gonsolin and Dustin May, the Dodgers need starters. Justin Verlander is a future Hall of Famer and seems to get better with age. Coming off another Cy Young season with Houston, the righty would fit right into the rotation.
