2019 NFL Draft

The Dallas Cowboys are on the clock in the war room series. Who will Dallas select during the 2021 NFL Draft? (Kamil Krzaczynski/USA TODAY Sports)

This is Jerry’s world, we’re just living in it. Jerry Jones is trying to build one last winner in Dallas. Heading into the 2021 NFL Draft, the Dallas Cowboys even have a top 10 pick. Say what you want about Jerry, the man can draft. That’s undeniable. Let’s head into the Cowboys war room!

  • Round 1: No. 10 overall
  • Round 2: No. 44
  • Round 3: No. 75, No. 99
  • Round 4: No. 115, No. 138
  • Round 5: No. 179
  • Round 6: No. 192 (from Lions), No. 227
  • Round 7: No. 238

Dallas has some extra comp picks to work with which really helps matters. They’re going to need every pick they can get their hands on given the contract they just gave Dak Prescott.

I think the 10th pick in this draft has cornerback written all over it. Barring anything unexpected like a trade, Patrick Surtain might as well pack his bags for Dallas now. A year ago, the Cowboys picked Trevon Diggs in the second round. Surtain would give Dallas the Alabama starting cornerback unit. Not a bad route to go.

Surtain is my top rated corner in this draft. Feels pretty close to as can’t miss as it gets in this draft. Surtain would replace Byron Jones giving Dallas a more than capable cornerback room.

Let’s continue to sure up this defense. The defensive tackle group needs work. Right now you’re banking on Neville Gallimore to hit. Trystan Hill hasn’t blossomed yet either. Could Dallas take Washington product Levi Onwuzurike? He feels like a potentially good fit in a 4-3 defense. There’s other options available but defensive tackle needs to be addressed.

Damonte Kazee solves some issues at safety, but Dallas still needs another. Ritchie Grant could be an interesting possibility. Grant looked phenomenal at the Senior Bowl.
