The 10 Most Disappointing Albums of 2022 Include Drake and More

#10 – Drake’s Honestly, Nevermind

Drake dropped this surprise album in the middle of the year and to add on to that, surprised the music industry with the style of this album. This house/club music genre album was a huge shock as this was completely unique from anything Drake has released. However, this album felt rushed, and the poor performance was rumored to be a result of trying to beat Beyonce’s RENAISSANCE album that had a similar style.

#9 – Kanye’s Donda 2

Kanye. Well, he’s done a lot this year including dropping a sequel to the original Donda that was released last year. This sequel felt exactly as sequels usually feel, can’t live up to the original and feels recycled. Ye reused the “Runaway” beat to put a XXXtentacion verse on the song “True Love” which was not well received. It demonstrates laziness and a lack of creativity, creativity being something that Kanye is so known for.

#8 – Future’s I NEVER LIKED YOU

I NEVER LIKED YOU should’ve been titled I never liked this album. This album is mediocre at best with a pair of amazing songs. The whole album should be avoided besides the songs “WAIT FOR U”, which features Drake and Tems, and “PUFFIN ON ZOOTIEZ”. Besides that, the rest of the songs are meh.

#7 – DaBaby’s Baby On Baby 2

Another sequel, another disappointing album. Baby On Baby 2 is very one dimensional with DaBaby’s aggressive style of rapping. This makes the sequel to Baby On Baby have nothing to look forward to as its repetitive nature leaves the album very lackluster.

#6 – Fivio Foreign’s B.I.B.L.E.

Perfectly mid. Nothing really else to say, wasn’t good, wasn’t bad. Album was very hyped as his performance the previous year on Donda left much to desire on this album. If you’re a Fivio Foreign fan this album should be fine.

#5 – Lil Baby’s It’s Only Me

Lil Baby had one of the best runs in discography bringing albums such as Harder Than Ever, Drip Harder, Street Gossip, and My Turn. However, with those successes comes high expectations. Lil Baby failed those expectations and brought some of the most basic flows, production, and lyricism in It’s Only Me. Huge disappointment by the artist as mostly all of the songs sound the same, leaving the album to be very forgettable.

#4 – The Game DRILLMATIC Heart vs. Mind

DRILLMATIC Heart vs. Mind had one of the, if not the longest track list of any 2022 album with 30 songs clocking in at almost two hours’ worth of music. With a track list of that size, it’s hard to decipher what songs are actually worth the listen. This whole album just seems like a mess, there’s no focus, and The Game seems to just be trying to claw back from the dead.

#3 – Jack Harlow’s Come Home The Kids Miss You

After his hit singles “Nail Tech”, “SUVs (Black on Black)”, and feature on “INDUSTRY BABY” this album had a lot of hype behind it. Especially after Jack Harlow added more fuel to the fire with a snippet of his hit song “First Class”, which samples Fergie’s song “Glamorous”. The “First Class” snippet wasn’t the only thing as a leaked clip of Drake’s verse on “Churchill Downs” also went viral. Both of these left fans raving for the new album. However, this album was a massive disappointment and left a lot to be desired after Jack’s hot run in the past.

#2 – DJ Khaled’s GOD DID

DJ Khaled has quickly regressed as one of the worst and least creative producers after releasing this horribly lazy album with this star-studded lineup of artists including Drake, Lil Baby, Future, and more. He makes his production very clear throughout the album with the obnoxious, repeating tags that seem to be half of the album’s run time. Not only that, the beats and production throughout the album are very lacking in creativity and are not impressive whatsoever. However, the songs to give listen to include “GOD DID”, “Juice WRLD DID”, and “JADAKISS INTERLUDE”.

#1 – R. Kelly’s I Admit It

This album should’ve never been an idea, never been released, never even hit streaming services. Somehow it did, but quickly got removed, and only makes R. Kelly’s legacy even worse as the most popular song on the album, “I Admit It (I Did It), Pt. 2” he openly admits, fitting to the title, to messing with “both older and young ladies” according to Genius. However, the worst part of this is he claims that it is wrong of the public to claim he is a pedophile or strip him of his career. These delusional claims are baffling and completely embarrassing for the singer.
