Why Does Kyle Lowry Still Have Value? He’s Washed.

Kyle Lowry is still somehow considered valuable in the NBA and I just can’t understand why. Lowry isn’t getting any younger and he just wasn’t that good last year. While he did only play a little more than half the games last year, that is something else to note. With Kyle Lowry getting older, could that mean he will become more injury-prone? I mean the guy is 35 and will turn 36 in March during the season. What is so appealing about Lowry this year? Seriously.

We can talk numbers too. He hasn’t averaged 20 PPG in a season since the 2017 season. He hasn’t shot 40% from 3 since that season either. Until the Raptors won their championship in 2019, Kyle Lowry was considered a playoff choker for never showing up when it was needed. Which even then, he didn’t play super spectacular. He was just coasting off Kawhi Leonard’s ability to win. Why is he so coveted? Despite everything I said, he still has a big market in the NBA according to Adrian Wojnarowski.

Let’s get real here, why are we spending 25-30 million a year on a washed-up player when there are not only cheaper but better options than Kyle Lowry. It doesn’t make any sense to me. It seems to be leading to that Kyle Lowry will be a sign-and-trade to whichever team he gets traded to if he’s traded. However, can a GM please explain the appeal about Kyle Lowry, I just don’t get it. If you’re trying to win a championship, what about Lowry screams that this will put you over the top. I guess there’s a reason why I’m not in a front office, but good God, I can probably do better than some of the GMs in the league. Go ahead, get Lowry, see how well it won’t work out for you.
