Welcome back to another part of the “Who The Fuck Is That Guy” series. “Who The Fuck Is That Guy” is the final topic of every episode of the Vendetta Sports Fantasy Show on our youtube channel. Everyone gives a player that no one knows about and no one will ever draft. Yet somehow, someway they will win you your fantasy league. Today we’re going to take a look at Justin Rohrwasser, kicker for the New England Patriots and my (Scott) pick on episode 6.

Background Information

Justin Rohrwasser was drafted by the Patriots in the 5th round, pick 159 overall, of the 2020 NFL Draft. This came as no surprise since the Patriots cut longtime kicker Stephen Gostkowski weeks before. Rohrwasser stands at 6’3 and weighs 230 pounds, beautiful size even for a kicker. Controversy came with Rohrwasser due to a tattoo. He has since said he will remove said tattoo.

College Production

Justin Rohrwasser started his college career at the University of Rhode Island and then transferred to Marshall University. Let’s take a look at his junior and senior years in 2018 and 2019 as those will provide a better indication of Rohrwasser’s current abilities. In 2018 Rohrwasser made 44/46 extra points for a percentage of 95.7. He went 15/21 on field goals for a percentage of 71.4. He improved dramatically in his senior year, going 35/36 on extra points (97.2%) and 18/21 on field goals (85.7%). Rohrwasser will step right in as New England’s kicker. His improvement throughout college should not be ignored.

Fantasy Potential

Justin Rohrwasser has huge fantasy potential due to the Patriot’s questions on offense. The Patriots won’t score many touchdowns, their wide receivers aren’t good enough, I don’t buy the Cam Newton hype and they can’t rely on the run game to carry them to victory. This means that they’ll be relying on field goals to score points, a dream scenario for kickers in fantasy. When a team can’t score touchdowns it’s all up to the kicker, this means increased production and more fantasy points. You want kickers on teams with questionable offenses, Justin Rohrwasser is just that.

Justin Rohrwasser’s Path To Playing Time

There’s no elaborate path to playing time for Justin Rohrwasser. No series of hypotheticals that require someone to hurt or to suck. Justin Rohrwasser is the only place kicker on the Patriots roster. So there’s no training camp battle, no one to beat out and no one needs to get benched. Justin Rohrwasser is the Patriots starting kicker, no other way to say it.
