Rams Offseason Needs NFL 2022: Free Agency And Draft Preview
The Super Bowl champions are on top of the world right now. Matt Stafford got out of a toxic situation (not really toxic, they just sucked) in Detroit. He’s now a Super Bowl Champion. As is Sean McVay who might be an offensive genius. The Rams should absolutely enjoy their honeymoon. However, they will have to consider keeping this puppy going. We’ll have to see how they address the Rams offseason needs.
Rams Free Agency
As far as the Rams’ free agency goes and addressing the Rams offseason needs, there are only 3 expiring players they needed to worry about: Darious Williams, Von Miller, and Odell Beckham Jr. Yes, I did leave out Sony Michel on purpose. Darious Williams is already gone to Jacksonville, and Von Miller is on the Bills. So their only priority is Odell. For 1, the Rams are currently -$8 million under the cap. While I think they can magically get themselves under the cap. It’ll take some work. Besides that, the Rams are actually in a good position to contend again. They won’t have to really make too many adjustments in free agency. A forgotten note is that Robert Woods will be back next year. A trio of Odell, Cooper Kupp, and Robert Woods is lethal to an already electric offense. While Sony Michel can be seen as a loss, we have to remember how stellar Cam Akers is. I think the Rams should let Sony Michel walk and see if they can get a cheaper pass-catching back.
Rams Draft
Listen, I’m not going into this. The Rams have 3 picks, and their first pick is in the 5th round. If you think I am going to try to guess 5 rounds of picks to try to see who the Rams could take, you are sorely mistaken. Les Snead famously said “Fuck them picks” and by golly, he meant that shit. Just know the Rams are going to be having that much of a draft plan. It won them a Super Bowl, so they can’t be fully wrong on this subject.
The Rams are going to run this shit back with basically the same squad. However, a Super Bowl hangover is a real thing. But with the Rams having players back from injuries and hopefully signing some guys for cheap, they should be right back in this thing. I don’t think anyone at the moment can compete with the Rams in the NFC. But if there are any needs for LA. They just have to try to re-sign the big names for the Rams offseason needs.
