PFF Continues To Make Fools Of Themselves: “Jalen Hurts Was Great Pick”
PFF is a joke of a company. We have established this multiple times. Within the past year, they have stated the following:
Austin Ekeler is better than Derrick Henry.
Infatuation with Baker Mayfield calling him historic prospect.
Running backs don’t matter. Meanwhile, Derrick Henry tore up the league. The Ravens clinched the best record simply by running the football.
JJ Arcega-Whiteside is a first round prospect.
I swear to god, all of them are true. On each occasion, they have proven to either be wildly wrong or have coincided with me putting them in my back pocket. I would like to add another one to the list. I don’t even have to sweat this one out. This is stealing candy from a baby.
Recently some schmuck by the name of Kevin Cole wrote a column titled “Jalen Hurts wasn’t a good pick by the Philadelphia Eagles — he was a great one”
What an idiot! What a fucking idiot! In typical PFF fashion, they fail to ever learn from their mistakes. They will never get this one right. Baker Mayfield wasn’t that talented and still isn’t. Lincoln Riley is just really talented. Jalen Hurts is dog shit. Lincoln Riley is really talented.
Cole makes a lot of points in his column. Most or all of them are wrong.
A: You don’t take Taysom Hill in the 2nd round. You do what the Saints did. Throw darts at an undrafted Taysom Hill OR like this year, Tommy Stevens round 7.
B: Taysom Hill is not the Saints backup quarterback. Jameis Winston is now. Teddy Bridgewater was previously.
C: Calling Jalen Hurts a possible elite franchise quarterback is laughable. Don’t use the Big 12 Oklahoma stats, you fucking clowns. Taylor Cornelius threw for the same number of touchdowns Hurts did in 2019. Should he go in the 2nd round? This is why PFF is wrong constantly. They don’t know how to use level of competition in their formulas.
Jalen Hurts is still the same guy that threw for 21 yards in the first half of the National Championship game against Georgia and got benched. He’s not an elite thrower of the football. Never will be. Hurts doesn’t process information well. I noticed you left out that fancy stat of 3.08 seconds per pass attempt. The lowest mark in college football. Even with Lincoln Riley, the guy doesn’t know where to go with the football. He’s a one read quarterback that doesn’t know what to do after and often flies from the pocket at unnecessary times.
I’m not saying Hurts is totally undraftable. He’s got some arm power, rushing ability, and good feet. Still, this idea that Hurts is a bonafide great pick in the 2nd round epitomizes the joke of a company PFF is. Howie Roseman is clueless too. Boy, do I have news for you. Jalen Hurts can’t sniff the talent of Russell Wilson’s pinky toe.
