The Giants defense will be a big reason if not the sole reason the team will survive the Daniel Jones injury. Led by Blake Martinez, James Bradberry, and Logan Ryan the Giants have played very well defensively. Top ten in rushing defense and top fifteen in overall defense is pretty good considering they had a rough start to the year.
The Giants Defense is The Key to Winning the Division
The Giants lead the, very entertaining, NFC East at 4-7 after starting the season at 1-7. New York has won three straight and mostly because of big plays by the defense. The winning formula in New York has been to play defense and run the ball. The Giants have rushed for 100 yards in six straight games.
Last week when the Giants found themselves in a tight spot up two against the Bengals. The defense made a big stop getting Brandon Allen to fumble the ball and ending the game. This week playing Russel Wilson will be no easy task. However, should the Giants survive this very tough four-game stretch it will be because the defense is going to make plays.
The Giants are Much Improved From Last Season.
James Bradberry is playing at a Pro-Bowl level this season and is taking away opponents’ top receivers. Pro Football Focus ranks Bradberry as a top-five corner in the league. Martinez leads the Giants in tackles and is playing out of his mind, and Ryan has had another great year in the NFL. The only thing I will ever give, general manager, Dave Gettleman credit for. Is signing these three guys in the offseason.
Defensive coordinator Patrick Graham has done a phenomenal job with this Giants defense. Last season the Giants were a bottom four team in the league defensively. This season the Giants are in the top fifteen which is a heavy improvement. Head coach Joe Judge has turned the culture of this team around and they are now getting those much-needed wins.
