Dak Prescott in “The Best Shape” of His Life

I guess Dak Prescott really took this “summer bod” thing seriously.

During a break in his youth football camp, Prescott told reporters that he is in the best shape he has ever been in. Prescott was in pretty decent shape as it was, especially for being an above-average mobile QB, but getting into better shape is never a bad thing for anyone in the NFL, really. Prescott was asked to elaborate on what he meant by “best shape of his life” and here is what he had to say.

“One, just because of my movement,” Prescott said. “I got a PT in the offseason — someone I’ve worked with throughout the last year. I’ve paid him, made him full-time, my guy. Whether it’s vacation or not, he comes with me. We work on these movements and stretches. I feel like, since the injury, I’ve trained more functional than I ever have. So, I see it in my body, I see it the way I move and how the ball is coming out.”

It all makes sense. In 2021, Prescott was still trying to recover from his badly broken ankle, which probably led to the shoulder issues he was having, trying to overcompensate. It will be interesting to watch this Cowboys team this season with a full healthy Prescott reportedly in the best shape of his life. This NFC East division is still wide open, and maybe health is what he really needed to help catapult this Dallas Cowboys team to the top of the NFC East and take them on an extended playoff run.

The perception about this Dallas Cowboys roster is that it has fallen off. There isn’t as much talent as there once was, especially giving away someone like Amari Cooper for pennies on the dollar. Some might say that Prescott is overrated. I disagree. It is well known around Vendetta Sports Media that I am a Dak Prescott guy. This is the year for me. It has to be a make-it or break-it year. This has to be the year that he takes that pivotal next step and really leads this team. If not, the Cowboys would not be wrong in looking elsewhere.
